The Track

To kick off the 2017 Season, Al had laid out another long track with a bridge at one end that meant the lanes were fairly even.

B Final

After a close start, an off from the red lane for Al on lap three left Ray in blue with the early lead. An opening lap off for Tony in yellow left him on the back foot in third and a few more offs left him trailing the leaders. Up front Al had a bit more pace than Ray and started closing him down. On lap 13 Al caught Ray and pushing hard to stay ahead Ray came off. An off for Al a few laps later put them back together but then a series of offs for Ray left Al with the lead and the B final win.

Al in white had the early lead of the A final by just a whisker from Nick in red. Paul in blue was just behind them. On lap 7 an massive accident took out all three of them and another incident for Al on the following tour saw him fall too far back to be in contention. Up front Nick found himself with a good lead from Paul and he was able to cruise home to take the first win of the season.

The start of the A final looked like a fight between Al in blue and Ray in red. Nick had a cautious start in white but by lap 2 he was on it and by lap 7 he had taken second from Ray and by lap 9 he had taken the lead from Al. Nick then continued pounding around at a pace that neither of his rivals could match. Nick took his second win of the evening with 34.1 laps setting the highest score of the evening in the process.
